The Manitoba Farm Investor Pathway is designed to attract experienced farm owners and operators who are interested in making investments to establish a new farm in the province of Manitoba.
Successful candidates are expected to establish a farm business in rural Manitoba producing primary products which are in consistent with the current farm industry of Manitoba. Agri-Business operations which are not producing primary products may also qualify under this pathway
Manitoba has not yet made the Farm Investor Pathway application procedure for this pathway.
Program Eligibility
Requirement | |
Express Entry Profile | – Need not required to be registered under the Federal Express Entry program. |
Job Offer | – Need not require a job offer to apply under this pathway. |
Level of Education | – Need not require a minimum level of education.
– Have skills and training required to operate a farm. |
Farm Business Experience | – Have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a business owner or farm owner.
– Have practical farming skills, technical knowhow and experience in farming practices. |
Language Proficiency | – Need not required minimum language proficiency.
– Be able to be interviewed in English or French, if asked for in-person interview. |
Personal Net Worth Requirement | – Have a net worth of at least $5,00,000 CAD |
Farm Business Investment Requirement | – Prepare a farm business plan.
– Invest at least $3,00,000 CAD. in Rural Manitoba in a farming business. – Be in eligible tangible assets defined by the MPNP. – Not have their investments into a farm business primarily to derive passive investment income or speculative purposes. |
Business Performance Agreement Requirement | – Submit a Business Performance Agreement. |
Farm Business Research Visit | – Must conduct a farm business research to Manitoba. |
Farm Business Activities | – Must live on the farm and actively participate in the management of farm business. Own an ongoing basis from within the Manitoba.
– Must be in active primary agricultural production and economically viable. |
Connection to Province | – Need not require any specific connection to BC.
– Must have intention to reside and setup business in Manitoba |
Application Procedure
- Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) with farm business details.
- Receiving a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) if eligible.
- Submitting a formal application to MPNP.
- Receiving a provincial nomination from Manitoba and providing a deposit if required.
- Applying for Canadian permanent resident status.
- Launching and managing the farm business in Manitoba upon approval.
