Accelerated Tech Pathway

This pathway is designed to facilitate the immigration process for individuals in the tech industry or eligible tech positions who possess an Alberta job offer.

Nominated candidates will be issued a work permit support letter which allows them to apply for a Temporary Work Permit, who will be invited to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.

Candidates must meet the minimum requirements of the Alberta Express Entry Stream. As well as meeting the Alberta Accelerated Tech Program requirements.

Express Entry Profile

–         Indicate the same primary NOC TEER occupations as the job offered in Alberta, at the time of submitting an Express Entry Profile.

 

–         Have an active Express Entry profile in either:

 

o   Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)

 

–         Have a high school diploma, at minimum.

 

–         Have at least 1 year of continuous full-time, skilled work experience, obtained in a position at National Occupations Classification (NOC) TEER Skill categories 0,1,2 or 3 (previously NOC Level 0, A or B), obtained within the last 10 Years in Canada or overseas.

 

–         Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7.

 

o   Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

–         Not have minimum education requirement.

 

–         Have at least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada.

 

–         Have their work experience be within the 3 years before application, and it does not need to be continuous, obtained within 3 years prior to application, obtained in a position at National Occupations Classification (NOC) TEER Skill Category 0,1,2 or 3 (Previously NOC Level 0, A or B).

 

–         Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7 for work experience obtained at NOC TEER Skill 0 or 1 (Previously NOC Level 0 or A).

 

–         Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for work experience obtained at NOC TEER Skill 2 or 3 (Previously Level B).

 

o   Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

 

–         Not have minimum education requirement.

 

–         Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade occupation with in the last 5 years.

 

–         Have either an offer of an employment to work in a skill trade in Canada or a certification of qualification in their skill trade issued by a Canadian authority.

 

–         Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for speaking and listening, (CLB) Level 4 for reading and writing.

Job Offer

–         Have their job offer in one of the in-demand occupations (mentioned below) or by an Albertan employer in an eligible tech occupation.

–         Have their job offer at least 12 months, full-times, and continuous.

–         Meet the provincial minimum wage, and meet or exceed lowest starting wage for the occupation across all industries in Alberta, if the candidates do not have an LMIA.

–         Meet any criteria set by the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), if candidates have LMIA.

–         Indicate the same main National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER Category as the Alberta job offer when submitting an Express Entry profile, ensuring that the occupation mentioned in the job offer aligns with the NOC TEER Category.

Level of Education–         Have their education as per the category selected in Express Entry requirements.
Work Experience–         Be working in one of the tech occupations as per In-Demand by the AAIP (or have a job offer with an Alberta employer in an eligible tech occupation).
Level of Education–         Have their education as per the category selected in Express Entry requirements.
Language Proficiency–         Demonstrate language proficiency as per the Express Entry requirements.
Connection to Alberta–         Need not to prove any specific connection to the Alberta.

Application Procedure

  • Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the requirements for one of Alberta’s in-demand occupations, as per the National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER Categories.
  • Assessment: Alberta authorities will review your application and invite eligible candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
  • Expedited Processing: The Accelerated Tech Pathway expedites the processing of Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications.
  • ITA for Permanent Residence: Candidates after receiving Invitation to Apply (ITA) may apply for permanent residence.
