Critical Impact Worker

Candidates who have a job offer from the Yukon employer in a low skilled or semi-skilled occupations may be nominated for permanent residence of Canada.

Program Eligibility

Requirement 
Express Entry Profile–         Need not required to be registered under the Federal Express Entry program
Job Offer

–         Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Yukon employer.

 

–         Have their job offer be at TEER 4 or 5 (Previously National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level C or D)

Level of Education–         Have a minimum equivalent of a Canadian secondary school / high school education.
Work Experience

–         TEER 4 or 5 (Previously NOC C or D)

–         Have a minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a position similar to the job offered by the Yukon employer.

Language Proficiency–         Demonstrate proficiency in English or French equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4, for job offers at TEER NOC skill level 4 or 5,
Connection to Province–         Need not require any specific connection to Yukon
Employer’s Business Requirement

–         Have their business in operation for at least 1 year in Yukon.

 

–         Have their business in operation for at least 3 Years, in case of a Non-profit organizations, and have secured funding for minimum 1 year following the application.

–         Demonstrate that reasonable efforts were made to hire a Canadian for the position before offering it to a foreign national.

Application Procedure:

  • Eligible applicants and Yukon companies collaborate for a comprehensive application.
  • Employer submits the provincial nomination application, and upon acceptance, Yukon nominates the applicant.
  • Yukon provides a support letter for a temporary work permit. The applicant applies to IRCC for a temporary work visa using this letter.
  • After provincial nomination, the candidate has six months to submit a federal application for Canadian permanent residency.
