The Manitoba Career Employment Pathway is a dedicated immigration route under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)‘s International Education Stream, designed specifically for international graduates who completed a program of study at a designated Manitoba post-secondary institution and are now employed in the province in an occupation connected to their field of study. What is the Career Employment Pathway?
The Career Employment Pathway is one of three pathways under the MPNP International Education Stream, alongside the Graduate Internship Pathway and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot. Unlike the general Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, this pathway does not require the applicant to hold an Express Entry profile, which makes it particularly attractive to graduates who want to remain in the province without navigating the federal pool first.
The pathway exists to retain skilled international graduates in Manitoba’s labour market by giving employers a reliable way to keep valuable employees, and by giving graduates a defined, achievable route to permanent status based on the education and experience they have already gained in the province.
Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible to apply under the Career Employment Pathway if you:
- Graduated from an eligible program of at least one year (two semesters) at a designated Manitoba post-secondary institution, completed within the three years before you apply.
- Are currently working for a Manitoba employer in a position directly related to your field of study.
- Hold a job offer classified under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 that appears on the Manitoba In-Demand Occupations List, with a minimum one-year contract.
- Hold a valid work permit at the time your application is assessed.
- Meet the minimum language benchmark and demonstrate a genuine intention to settle permanently in Manitoba.
