Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) focuses on specific in-demand occupations aligned with the province’s needs. Winnipeg is the major city in Manitoba, offering economic and cultural opportunities.

Manitoba has different immigrations streams segregated among below major categories:

Who Cannot Apply to the MPNP?

The following are not eligible to submit an application to the MPNP:

  • Refugee claimants, or individuals involved in a federal appeal or removal process
  • Live-in Caregivers currently living in Canada
  • Temporary foreign workers currently working and residing in a province other than Manitoba
  • Spouses of Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Individuals who have been refused by the MPNP within the last six months and who are not able to address the reason(s) for refusal
  • Individuals who have an active immigration application with any other provincial immigration program or federal immigration program in Canada. Note: an Express Entry profile is not considered an immigration application.

If you or your spouse already have an active MPNP application, you are not eligible to submit an additional application to any other stream/pathway of the MPNP

The points requirement varies by draw. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, refer to recent PNP draw details.

Yes, you can apply for most of the Manitoba PNP streams without needing to be part of the Express Entry system. The exception is the Manitoba Express Entry Pathway under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream.

A job offer is not mandatory for all streams. Specifically, you don’t need one for the Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas Stream, the Manitoba Business Investor Stream, or if you’re applying through the Student Entrepreneur Pathway or the Career Employment Pathway under the International Education Stream. However, the Graduate Internship Pathway does require a job offer.

Typically, Manitoba PNP applications are processed within a 6-month timeframe.

Connections can include having family or friends in the province, previous work or educational experiences in Manitoba, a job offer, or an invitation to apply from the Manitoba PNP.
