Temporary Foreign Worker

Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
The LMIA, issued by ESDC, evaluates the impact of hiring foreign workers on the Canadian labor market -
a prerequisite for hiring temporary foreign workers.

Global Talent Stream (GTS)
The Global Talent Stream is part of Canada’s Global Skills Strategy, speeding up the hiring of skilled workers for innovative companies. It ensures work permit applications are processed within two weeks, setting a standard for efficiency in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, including temporary resident visas when needed. GTS operates through two categories, namely Category A and Category B, each tailored to specific hiring needs.

Owner-Operator Work Permit
It’s a program allowing foreign nationals to operate businesses in Canada. Requirements include controlling interest, job creation, skills transfer, and a viable business plan. Successful temporary work visa holders can transition to permanent residence under a provincial program or as a federal skilled worker under Express Entry.
