Worker Eligibility:

  • Expedited processing available for NOC TEER 0,1 or 2 Skill Level positions from outside Canada.

International Agreements:

  • CUSMA (Previously known as NAFTA) – (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement)
  • CETA – (Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement)
  • GATS – (General Agreement on Trade in Services)

Canadian Interest Exemptions:

  • Demonstrates significant benefit to Canadians or reciprocal employment relationships.
  • Assessed based on social or cultural contributions.

Intra-Company Transferees:

  • Certain companies can transfer foreign nationals to a Canadian location for business improvement.

Additional Exemptions:

  • Granted for humanitarian reasons.
  • Specific candidates for Canadian permanent residency may qualify for LMIA-exempt work permits.
